Rider University Locked Down For 'Active Shooter' Threat

A shelter-in-place was lifted Monday afternoon, April 3, after a call threatening a possible active shooter, authorities said.

Lawrence Township police said it was investigating the call made to Rider University Public Safety.

Alerts started at about 1:15 p.m. and the lock down lasted about an hour.

"There is no active shooter situation on campus at this time," Lawrence police said at about 2:15 p.m.

“We will share more info with you ASAP. Investigation is ongoing," the university said in a statement canceling the shelter-in-place.
